Cookies & Tracking

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser; similar technologies include your browser's local storage. We use them for a few narrow purposes, described below.

When you sign in we set a session cookie so the app can recognize you as you move between pages and keep your session secure. This is strictly necessary to use an account; without it you cannot stay signed in. It is a first-party cookie and is not used for advertising.

We store small preferences — such as your chosen language and appearance/display settings — so the app remembers them. These are kept in your browser (as a cookie or local storage) and are not shared for advertising.

We use PostHog to understand how the product is used so we can fix problems and improve it. This may set analytics cookies or use local storage to recognize a returning browser and to record which pages and features are used, browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not send exam answers or tutor content to analytics, and we do not use this data for advertising.

MathPath does not run third-party advertising, does not embed ad-network trackers, and does not sell or share personal information for cross-site behavioral advertising. You will not find advertising cookies from us.

When a suggested lesson video is played, it is embedded from YouTube, which may set its own cookies once you press play, under Google's policies. We query YouTube for suggestions using only a topic or skill label — never a learner identifier — but the embedded player itself is governed by YouTube's own cookie and privacy terms.

You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings, and you can sign out to end your session. Blocking the essential session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in. Because we do not use advertising cookies, there is no ad-tracking to opt out of.
